Walking can help diabetics

Danish scientists from the University of Copenhagen concluded that short intervals at a fast walk rate are beneficial to diabetics. They help to lower blood sugar.

Typically, doctors advise victims diabetes avoid strenuous exercise of high intensity and fast hiking Since all It increases the risk of injury, after which a person may temporarily reduce activity. But scientists from the University of Copenhagen found that a sovershaemy certain short intervals quick walks bring massive benefit people suffering from diabetes second type .


Patients aged 57 to 61 years, who received a variety of drugs (other than insulin), divided into three groups. 12 people made long Hiking Another 12 were engaged walking at a fast pace, but with certain intervals, and 8 were diabetic in the control group. Their Activity was measured using a special computer training and heart rate monitor.


Walking at a brisk pace with slots includes a three minute acceleration, followed by three-minute delay. Its aim was to achieve 70% of the peak indicator power consumption at a rapid pace, and 40% at slow. In the group with prolonged walks volunteers traveled all the time at the same pace.


It was found that walking at a fast can improve the pace indicator of the level of sugar in the blood and increase the insulin sensitivity. In the other two groups, no significant changes were recorded. (READ MORE)
