Turmeric save from cirrhosis

 Turmeric save from cirrhosis  Curcumin is one of the main constituents of the Indian spice turmeric, apparently able to fight off liver damage leading to cirrhosis. This is indicated by the preliminary data of experimental studies published in the journal Gut.
Curcumin Which gives   turmeric   its bright yellow color, has long been used in Indian popular medicine for the treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders. Previous studies have shown that it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may help in the fight against Diseases .

A group of researchers tried to find out whether curcumin   delay or prevent the damage caused by progressive inflammatory disease of the liver, including primary sclerosing cholangitis and primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver . Both of these diseases may be caused by genetic defects or autoimmune disease that causes damage to liver tissue, and finally causes cirrhosis.

The study was conducted on laboratory mice with chronic hepatitis . Within 8 weeks, their diet was added curcumin. In the control group mice had the same diet except curcumin.   Upon expiration of the experiment, the scientists compared the health status of the mice in both groups.

The mice who consumed all the time curcumin significantly improved liver health. Now experts are planning to continue the study with the participation of volunteers from the patients. According to the authors, curcumin   it is a natural product that can be a very promising way treatment inflammation of the liver in future.
