WHO urges ban advertising of unhealthy foods to children

Employees of the World Health Organization held a conference on nutrition and non-communicable diseases, which was attended by more than 25 ministers from different countries. If in Europe, experts are sounding the alarm for a long time, Russian officials is that no tightening of standards in relation to marketing of foods and beverages to children is not accepted. Executive Director of the National Research Center "Healthy Eating" Zinaida Medvedev believes that the first thing the Russians need to be informed about what they are going to purchase: to introduce labeling of food products, that is, specify the full composition of the product and the daily rate of consumption.


"This is only the first step to the culture of food. Take measures need as quickly as possible, because now every fourth inhabitant of the country overweight, and 60% of children who were obese before puberty, will not be able to lose weight and at the beginning of adult life, "- said Medvedev.
