The new test can predict cancer return

The new test can predict cancer return The British introduced a new analysis of the clinics for patients with breast cancer, which can predict with high accuracy the likelihood of tumor recurrence. This will prevent many women from the harsh effects of chemotherapy.

Experts have long said that many victims of breast cancer   needlessly going through chemotherapy and its side effects such as hair loss, general fatigue, weight loss and intoxication. In many cases, the cure could be achieved without the help of "chemistry". But how do you know for sure whether the tumor will come back?

Now, British scientists have developed a similar test with a sufficiently high accuracy. In the journal British Journal of Cancer published the results of research experts from the Royal Marsdenskogo Hospital in London, which says that a new test called ICH4 has identified the presence of   breast cancer   low risk in half of women with "unpredictable" tumors.

Total ICH4 held 101 patients including 26 who initially found "moderate" cancer. However, the new analysis showed that only 15 women actually may refuse chemotherapy, because the risk of recurrence have negligible, and the rest should receive the proper treatment so as not to expose the health risk of the tumor returning.

The test measures the level of protein ER, PR, HER2 and Ki67 tumor removed surgically. This analysis allows doctors with a high degree of accuracy to determine the possibility of cancer recurrence in the future. In October, the UK government will decide whether to enter this test is widely practiced in the medical institutions of the country.
