Because tap water may cause blindness

Because tap water may cause blindness Scientists have found in tap water harmful to human eyes parasite amoeba Acanthamoeba. It does not kill even bleach. These harmful microorganisms penetrate through the cornea into the outer layer of the eyeball and the corrode it from within. Infection occurs through improper care of contact lenses.
Doctors strongly recommend not to wash them with tap water, remove before immersion in a bath or pool, as well as avoiding contact lenses with dust. For their cleansing must be used exclusively with a special solution. Otherwise, contact lenses may permanently damage the eyesight.

Symptoms of infection by the parasite Acanthamoeba:
- Swollen eyelids,
- watery eyes,
- Sensitivity to light,
- sore eyes,
- Scarring of the cornea.

If not promptly respond to these symptoms will only save the eyesight corneal transplantation.

No less common user errors contact lenses :
- The desire to save on examination by an ophthalmologist. As a result, lenses are purchased, not suitable for the eye of the wearer.
- Replacement of contact lenses after their expiry date. If you change the lens only when the eyes begin to feel uncomfortable, then the cornea is already impressed.
- Improper care. If the shelf-life of your contact lenses - 1 month, they will need a multifunctional solution. For traditional lens or lenses quarterly replacement need more weekly cleaning with enzymatic cleaner. Care does not require a disposable product.
- Sleep in lenses. In terms of oxygen permeability, they are divided into several categories:
- Daily wear (be sure to remove!)
- Flexible (allowed to leave in exceptional cases)
- Prolonged or continuous wear (not permissible to shoot them a few nights in a row).
The last category of lenses, however, cause the majority of ophthalmologists skepticism - even well-oxygen permeable silicone hydrogel contact lenses are not allowed to reduce the risk of microbial keratitis with prolonged wearing.

- A rare visit to the ophthalmologist. Check the vision necessary to not less than 1-2 times a year. Only a doctor will be able to notice the slightest changes in the structure of the eye, which can then cause a lot of problems.
