Ointment for external application. Levomekol has antibacterial, anti-hypertensive and regenerating effect. In its composition contains methyluracil . chloramphenicol   and excipient ethylene glycol . Metiluratsil promotes tissue regeneration, stimulate metabolic processes in cells, has anti-inflammatory and wound-healing action. Methyluracil Local influence increases the production of white blood cells, interferon, increases local immunity . Interferon is the special protein which possesses immunostimulating, antiviral action, activates the production of biologically active substances. Chloramphenicol affects a wide range of bacteria: streptococci . staphylococci . E. coli Viruses, pathogens trachoma, spirochetes . Rickettsia . Chloramphenicol blocked protein production in microorganisms, which leads to their destruction. Drug resistance develops very slowly. Chloramphenicol has a toxic effect on the organs of blood, lowers the number of white and red blood cells. Large dosages cause confusion, mental disorders. Polyethylene glycol ointment gives the absorption properties. The components of the drug Levomekol potentiate the effect of each other. The ointment is effective for purulent and necrotic tissue. Available in the form of ointment in tubes. The ointment is white with a slight yellowish tinge, has a specific smell.

Indications:

Levomekol used in the festering wounds (mixed flora Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Staphylococci, E. coli, and others.). Ointment helps cleanse wounds from purulent and necrotic masses, reduce swelling, regeneration   damaged tissues. Levomekol can be used in necrotic lesions of wound healing, severe hemorrhoids with elements of necrosis in the treatment of boils , 3-4 degree burns (the decay of tissues) bedsores , Purulent acne, cut wounds, burst of corns, weeping eczema . Protivopokaaniya:

Ointment Levomekol not prescribed for allergies methyluracil, chloramphenicol, ethylene glycol. The drug is contraindicated in fungal infections of the skin, eczema, psoriasis (causes goiter), pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Mode of application:

The wound is filled with sterile gauze soaked in the ointment. It allowed the introduction levomekol in purulent cavity through the drainage tube (catheter) or by means of a syringe. Special instructions:
