 How useful the correct posture  Our mothers were right when they taught us to stand up straight and do not slouch. Scientists have found that the correct posture is good for you - it makes the pain easier to bear.

A person with   correct posture   not only makes a good impression on others, it is still better to cope with the pain. But fans slouch have hard times, as their body is more susceptible to discomfort. That is the conclusion reached by researchers from the Universities of Toronto and Southern California.

Scientists have attracted a group of volunteers who are beginning to strengthen the hand cuff pressure and inflated them to that level until people began to complain of pain. So determined pain threshold . Then, the volunteers had to hold out for 20 seconds in three yoga poses.

It turned out that the dominant position of yoga, in which a man stands upright, not hunched over, legs spread wide, increases pain threshold As reported in the journal Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. The researchers decided to find out whether this effect is "contagious", that is, whether one person is better to endure pain, looking at correct posture   another. To this end, participants were asked to sit down and discuss with researchers the different images of nature. Pain threshold   was measured before and after the debate.

When the researchers themselves were sitting right and volunteers stooped, their pain threshold is decreased. Scientists are not sure what is the cause of such a connection. It is possible that a particular pose, in which the hands are on his knees, and back and neck straightened, increases the production of testosterone in the body. This hormone affects the growth of the pain threshold.
