 WHO: the number of victims of tobacco this year will reach 6 million  On the eve of the International No Tobacco Day, which will be celebrated on May 31 World Health Organization   It warns that the number of victims of smoking reach this year a record 6 million people, and 600,000 of them will die from passive smoking.

According to Armando Peruga , Coordinator of WHO's anti-smoking campaign, if humanity does not take any measures to improve the situation, by 2030 every year from smoking will die more than 8 million smokers. WHO projects that in the case of saving the situation, the number of deaths in the 21st century will be estimated 1 billion people.

This year World No Tobacco Day   It will coincide with the adoption of the WHO Framework Convention (FCTC), which was adopted in 2003 by the International Health Assembly. Today, members of the Convention are 172 States, including and Russia has acceded to the FCTC in 2008.
