The antitumor agent. Main, an active substance - anastrozole . The mechanism of action of the drug Arimidex is based on the inhibition of development   estrogen . Anastrozole is a selective non-steroidal Aromatase inhibitor . Effective in anti-tumor therapy of estrogen-dependent mammary tumors in females in the postmenopausal . The drug reduces the amount of circulating Estradiol . Arimidex no effect on the secretion of endogenous corticosteroids, it has no estrogenic, androgenic, and progestogenic activity. Available in tablet form.

Indications and contraindications:

Arimidex is prescribed to women during menopause when estrogen-dependent breast cancer during therapy antiestrogens   and temoksifena . The drug is not applicable in females with a premenopausal estrogen dependent breast tumors. The drug is not prescribed for hypersensitive to anastrozole, failure renal and hepatic systems, breastfeeding, pregnancy. Do not use in pediatrics.

Side effect:

Endocrine system : alopecia Thinning of the hair follicle and the hair, vaginal dryness. Digestive system : Diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, dyspepsia. Nervous system : Anxiety, asthenic syndrome , Increased drowsiness, headaches. Respiratory system Bronchitis, rhinitis Sinusitis. Forming Organs : anemia , Reducing the number of white blood cells. Locomotor apparatus : Reduction of joint mobility, arthralgia , Myalgia. Also, the drug Arimidex is accompanied by "tides" of blood to the face, thrombophlebitis , Allergies, high blood pressure, increased levels   cholesterol , Thromboembolism, increased levels of liver enzymes, vaginal bleeding.

Mode of application:

Arimidex taken once a day at a dosage of 1 mg. The duration of therapy is calculated individually.
