As shown by recent research, time of day, in which case a heart attack, affects how serious is the damage of the myocardium. The most severe consequences of a heart attack is usually seen in people who survived the attack at night or early in the morning.
American scientists from the Heart Institute in Minneapolis, exposing the analysis of data on more than 1000 patients with a heart attack, have come to the conclusion that the attacks that occurred between one night and five in the morning, the most serious consequences.
Patients who have suffered at the specified time, there was 82% more damage to the heart muscle than those who caught a heart attack at a different time of day. Previously, scientists have observed similar results in laboratory animals.
These studies can help clarify the protective mechanisms of the heart, which later help in the prevention and treatment of heart attacks.
