 Women in retirement - at risk for anorexia  Anorexia usually associated with teenagers and young adults, but it is now all eating disorder is more common in women of retirement age. They, too, feel the pressure of the cult of thinness.

Up to 54 years old Englishwoman Margaret Bradley (pictured), never trouble themselves with diets. Slim on the nature of the mother of two children simply prefer a healthy diet and regular visits to the gym. This made it possible to look 10 years younger than his years. But at 54, Margaret suddenly decided that the age will soon lose her slender figure. And far-fetched after Christmas to lose a few kilos that only then do not worry.

Over the past 11 years the number of diseases of anorexia among women increased by 42%. In the minds of most people are beginning anorexic model, a high school and a girl age 25-30. But according to statistics 78% of deaths from anorexia   are women with an average age of 69 years!

For older ladies effects of an eating disorder in the body is much more dangerous than for teenagers. Defenses are weakened by this age, there are chronic diseases, age-related changes in the heart and other vital organs. So that such a severe stress as anorexia often leads to death.

Margaret Bradley was forced to leave work because of poor health. Now she does not even have the ability to sit with their grandchildren - it prevents a permanent weakness. Recently, she was hospitalized for two weeks to carry out an intravenous feeding. Today, it passes rigorous treatment of anorexia. The doctor told her to death, Margaret did not have time to lose 2-3 kilograms.
