American researchers studied the effect of radiation of compact fluorescent lamps, which can be seen today in any Russian office and in homes of Russians. Previously, experts have expressed that such lamps can release a poison, provoking cancer. It looks like the worst assumption really true.
This time, researchers from Stony Brook University found a link between long-term operation of energy-saving lamps in the room, and skin cancer. During the experiment, the researchers were kept under two lamps for four days human skin samples. As a result, the skin cells ceased to grow and change shape, which is for the warning signs of skin cancer. As said study co-author Professor Miriam Rafailovich, unlike the old light bulbs, energy-saving lamps emit radiation like ultraviolet rays.
We know that the sun's rays, especially straight, increases the risk of neoplastic diseases are the main provocateur of skin cancer - radiation damages the DNA in cells, and makes them more susceptible to mutation and cancer.
